Lake Tahoe vacation central.
If you’re like most of our guests, you’re going to want to quickly settle into your comfortable suite and start discovering all that lies in store for you in this fun area. It won’t take long for you to realize Tahoe Beach & Ski Club is in an ideal vacation location. This central location makes it the perfect launch point for all your Lake Tahoe vacation activities.
Fall arrives yearly with a Sierra song all its own and it’s a much anticipated season. The morning air is crisp and sunsets can be stellar. Here and there, aspen trees are dotted among the deep green pines. The sunlight lighting up the yellow, red and orange aspen leaves is not to be missed. In early October, the Kokanee Salmon Festival is always of interest. Many people on Lake Tahoe vacations also include visits to local wineries and there are many to be discovered in the foothills west of Tahoe. Coming or going, stop at Apple Hill, just outside Placerville. As special as it is, fall doesn’t linger long in the Sierra, so don’t miss it.
On a bluebird day, big powdery flakes have fallen quietly overnight. When morning breaks, the sun lights them up like billions of brilliant diamonds. It’s the perfect winter day in Tahoe. You may want to get up early to catch first tracks. Or maybe you’re up for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing or ice-skating. Then, of course, there’s always sledding, boarding, snowmobiling or even dog sledding. The winter days may be short, but there’s no shortage of fun things to do. And if you’re thinking of just staying all warm and toasty in your comfortable suite, you wouldn’t be the first guest who had that very same idea.
A great spring ski season often follows one of our epic Tahoe winters. Hit the slopes in the morning and soak up the spring sun, sitting mountainside at your favorite ski resort. This is the season that our waterfalls are at their best. Catch the cascading at Eagle Falls, Glen Alpine and Horsetail Falls. This spring snowmelt helps fill Lake Tahoe.
If you’re not an adrenaline-seeker, Lake Tahoe is still vacation central for you. There are all kinds of activities for you to enjoy. There are four scenic golf courses right here and others not far away. Thanks to our rarified air, your shots will carry further, too.
If history is your thing, the entire Tahoe area will be very much to your liking. Visit the Tallac Historic Site, Vikingsholm, Tahoe City, Virginia City, Truckee and Genoa. Learn about former resident Mark Twain, legendary Snowshoe Thompson, the Pony Express, the Donner Party, gold and silver mining, logging and so much more.
You know summer is approaching when you hear the sweet sounds of the Mountain Chickadee. Just listen for its well-known “Cheeseburger” call. Once it arrives, is there anything nicer than summer in the Sierra? The days are long (and that’s a good thing), the temperatures are comfortable and there’s just so much to do. Your biggest challenge will be to figure out what to do first. Nearby, you can rent a jet ski, motorboat, sailboat, kayak or canoe. Go ATV riding, hiking or biking. Want to be above it all? Go hot air ballooning, parasailing or take a glider or helicopter ride.
The town is bustling. Our July 4th fireworks are spectacular and the view from our beach just couldn’t be better. The annual Tahoe Celebrity Golf Tournament in mid-July is a fun event with celebrities from the sports, entertainment and even business. The Valhalla summer Art and Music Festival is always fun and the legendary outdoor summer concerts at Harvey’s Casino draws top name entertainers.
A short drive up the east shore leads you to Sand Harbor. At the outdoor amphitheater, watch a Shakespeare play with Lake Tahoe as a backdrop.
Lake Tahoe vacations are unlike any other kind. And when you make Tahoe Beach & Ski Club your launch point, life is good. Because it’s vacation central.
